Video (Time Based Projects)

BLAST FROM THE PAST

This project explores the concept of "Replay" by recontextualizing footage to evoke nostalgia and personal memory. The 60-second video loop blends clips from a 1982 Triple-I demo reel with moments from childhood TV shows like Code Lyoko, Tokyo Mew Mew, Pucca, and Bill Nye the Science Guy. Through techniques like echoing, stretching, and surreal effects, the video mimics the fluid, dreamlike nature of revisiting memories, reinforcing emotional connections to the shows that shaped my creativity. The work reinterprets media to infuse the past with new meanings, reflecting both the child I was and the artist I’ve become.

TRIP TO JAPAN

A trip to Japan captures the essence of my transformative journey through Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hakone. As an artist deeply inspired by Japan’s vibrant pop culture since childhood, this trip was both healing and inspiring. The video showcases the beauty and animation embedded in the country's culture, from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene landscapes of Kyoto and Hakone. Each moment is infused with the energy, color, and creativity that have shaped my artistic vision, celebrating the unique spirit of Japan that continues to fuel my work.
